Asset Manager Jobs
An Energy Asset Manager in Australia is responsible for overseeing the performance, maintenance, and optimization of energy infrastructure assets like power plants, transmission lines, and renewable energy facilities, ensuring their operational efficiency, reliability, and compliance with regulations, while maximizing asset lifespan and minimizing costs throughout their lifecycle; often requiring a strong understanding of engineering principles, asset management systems, and market dynamics within the Australian energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly analyze operational data to identify performance issues, potential failures, and areas for improvement across energy assets.
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules, coordinate repair activities, and oversee contractor performance to maintain asset integrity.
- Evaluate and prioritize capital investment projects for asset upgrades, replacements, and expansion to optimize asset lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with asset operations, including safety hazards, environmental impacts, and regulatory compliance.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and service providers for asset maintenance and repair services.
- Generate detailed reports on asset performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and cost analysis to inform decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to relevant Australian energy regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power systems, renewable energy technologies (solar, wind), and related asset management practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools to interpret asset performance data and identify trends
- Ability to manage maintenance projects, including budget planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, finance, and regulatory bodies
- Understanding of energy market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and financial implications of asset management decisions
Relevant Work Experience:
- Previous experience in asset management roles within the Australian energy sector, including power generation, transmission, or distribution companies.
- Knowledge of specific Australian energy regulations and standards
