Cadastral Surveyor Jobs
Cadastral Surveyors advise on the location of boundaries and understand the land ownership laws. This includes the identification of rural and residential boundaries, re-establishing boundaries that have been previously surveyed or creating new boundaries. Cadastral Surveyors are also responsible for any rights or restrictions relating to properties.
Responsibilities
- Advise and interpret boundary locations
- Prepare and maintain accurate cadastral maps and records
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of cadastral survey data
- Investigate and report to management on issues, dealings, and advice
- Supervise and mentor staff that is more junior
- Liaise with clients/key stakeholders, including the Government or other parties involved, to provide feedback and practice initiatives and reforms.
- Undertake fieldwork as required
- Prepare plans for clients, report back on directors of projects, and manage projects of different sizes.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in surveying, spatial science, or other relevant qualifications
- A ‘Cadastral Endorsement’ from Surveyors Board Queensland (SBQ) is highly advantageous
- Have knowledge with 12D with the ability to manipulate data (or use a similar package)
- Good understanding and experience in modern survey instrumentation. This could be 1 man total stations, data modelling, and GPS.
- Strong research and analytical skills to verify land ownership records.
- Experience in UAV surveys and knowledge of Leica equipment
