Maintenance Manager Jobs

An "Energy Maintenance Manager" in Australia is responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance related to energy systems within a facility, including preventative maintenance schedules, energy consumption monitoring, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring optimal energy efficiency while adhering to safety regulations and budget constraints; typically requiring strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, as well as experience managing a team of maintenance technicians. 


Key responsibilities may include:

Energy Management Strategies:

  • Develop and implement energy conservation plans to optimize energy usage across the site. 
  • Monitor energy consumption trends and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Conduct energy audits to identify potential energy savings opportunities. 


Maintenance Planning and Execution:

  • Create and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all energy-related equipment (e.g., HVAC systems, electrical panels, generators). 
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities performed by in-house technicians or external contractors. 
  • Respond promptly to energy system breakdowns and coordinate necessary repairs. 


Technical Expertise:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, building automation systems (BAS), and energy monitoring technologies. 
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to energy systems. 
  • Stay updated on new energy-efficient technologies and industry best practices. 


Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the energy maintenance budget. 
  • Track maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction. 
  • Evaluate and procure new energy-efficient equipment. 


Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and procedures related to electrical and energy systems. 
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training for maintenance team members. 


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 
  • Proven experience in managing energy systems within a commercial or industrial setting 
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems (BAS) and energy monitoring tools 
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills to manage a maintenance team 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for maintenance management and data analysis
