Piping Engineer Jobs

Piping Engineers support the design, construction, and maintenance of piping systems within the oil and gas industry in Australia. The ideal candidate will have expertise in piping design, material selection, stress analysis, and regulatory compliance to ensure the reliability and efficiency of piping systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze piping systems for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Develop piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications.
• Conduct stress analysis, flexibility analysis, and pipe support design.
• Select appropriate materials based on project requirements and environmental conditions.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, structural, and process engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Australian and international piping codes (e.g., ASME, API, AS).
• Review and approve piping designs, vendor drawings, and technical documents.
• Support construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities by providing technical expertise.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks related to piping systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in piping design and engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in piping design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, Caesar II, or SmartPlant.
• Strong understanding of piping materials, stress analysis, and fluid mechanics.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities.
• Knowledge of welding, corrosion control, and insulation techniques.
• Familiarity with Australian industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience working with EPC contractors or oil and gas operators.
