QA Engineer Jobs

A Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer in Australia is responsible for designing and executing test plans to identify software defects throughout the development process, collaborating with developers to fix issues, and ensuring the overall quality of a software product by adhering to established standards and best practices, ultimately delivering a high-quality user experience; typically requiring strong analytical skills, knowledge of testing methodologies, and proficiency in relevant software tools to document and report bugs effectively. 

Key responsibilities may include:

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts covering functional, regression, performance, and usability testing aspects. 
• Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects and issues. 
• Document identified defects clearly in a bug tracking system, providing detailed descriptions and steps to reproduce issues for developers. 
• Work closely with development teams to understand requirements, reproduce bugs, and collaborate on bug fixes. 
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks to improve testing efficiency and regression coverage. 
• Adhere to quality standards and best practices for software testing throughout the development lifecycle. 
• Conduct performance testing to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance. 
• Review functional and non-functional requirements to ensure thorough test coverage. 
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate key findings to stakeholders. 

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with various testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, performance, usability)
• Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)
• Programming skills in relevant languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) for automation testing
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
