Key responsibilities of a Site Engineer in Australia:
Site Planning and Coordination:
- Interpreting and implementing project plans, drawings, and specifications on site.
- Marking out work areas and setting out construction lines.
- Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Managing daily construction activities and work schedules.
Quality Control:
- Performing regular quality checks on construction work to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Identifying and resolving quality issues promptly.
- Documenting quality control procedures and findings
Site Surveying and Measurement:
- Conducting site surveys and level checks
- Recording and monitoring progress of construction activities
- Preparing and maintaining site documentation, including progress reports and as-built drawings
Safety Management:
- Enforcing site safety regulations and procedures
- Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards
- Conducting safety inductions and toolbox talks with site workers
Liaison and Communication:
- Communicating effectively with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and clients
- Resolving site issues and coordinating necessary actions
- Reporting on project progress and potential problems to the project manager
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Relevant experience in construction site engineering
