Key responsibilities may include:

Operational Management:

• Monitoring and managing the flow of goods within the terminal, including loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch. 
• Supervising terminal staff including crane operators, forklift drivers, and yard personnel. 
• Scheduling and coordinating vessel arrivals and departures, optimizing turnaround times. 
• Implementing and enforcing safety procedures and compliance with relevant regulations. 

Performance Optimization:

• Analyzing operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to efficiency and productivity. 
• Setting performance targets and monitoring key metrics like throughput, dwell time, and equipment utilization. 
• Implementing cost-saving measures and managing budgets. 

Stakeholder Management:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with shipping lines, trucking companies, customs authorities, and other relevant stakeholders. 
• Resolving operational issues and complaints promptly and effectively. 
• Communicating clearly with internal and external parties regarding terminal operations. 

Leadership and Team Development:

• Leading and motivating a team of terminal staff, providing training and development opportunities. 
• Fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence within the team. 
• Addressing performance issues and implementing corrective actions. 

Relevant skills and qualifications:

• Strong understanding of logistics and terminal operations, including knowledge of relevant regulations and safety procedures
• Experience in managing large teams and coordinating complex operations
• Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to identify trends and drive improvements
