Maintenace Manager Jobs

A Maintenance Manager in Australia is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a facility's maintenance operations, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and infrastructure, while managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing maintenance budgets to minimize downtime and maximize asset lifespan; typically requiring a strong technical background in engineering trades and experience with maintenance management systems. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance plans, including routine inspections, lubrication schedules, and equipment overhauls, to proactively address potential issues. 
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training to ensure efficient operations. 
  • Manage maintenance budgets, including cost analysis, procurement of parts and services, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. 
  • Monitor the condition of all assets, identifying potential issues and coordinating necessary repairs or replacements. 
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations, including workplace safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and reporting of incidents. 
  • Oversee the work of external contractors, managing contracts and ensuring quality standards are met. 
  • Generate regular reports on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and budget status to inform decision-making. 
  • Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, implement new technologies, and drive efficiency improvements. 


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with experience in industrial or commercial maintenance environments. 
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and resolve conflicts. 
  • Excellent analytical skills to diagnose equipment faults, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. 
  • Proficiency in utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance schedules. 
  • Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders including technicians, engineers, operations staff, and management. 
  • Awareness of relevant Australian safety regulations and standards related to maintenance activities.
