To increase your chances of becoming a Production Engineer in New Zealand, it’s recommended to complete either a Bachelor of Engineering Technology, specialising in Mechanical Engineering, or a Bachelor of Engineering, specialising in Mechanical or Process Engineering.

Most Production Engineers can develop their careers by moving into other specialist areas of engineering, such as Mechanical, Maintenance, or Automation, or head into a Sales-based role. Alternatively, Engineers who find passion in leading others can progress onwards to management and work their way towards becoming Production or Maintenance Manager.
