Project Manager Jobs

A Telecommunications Project Manager in Australia is responsible for leading and overseeing the planning, design, implementation, and delivery of complex telecommunications projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors across the project lifecycle; requiring strong technical knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, project management methodologies, and experience managing large-scale network deployments within the Australian market. 


Key Responsibilities:


Project Initiation and Planning:

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with client requirements and business needs. 
  • Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. 
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimations for proposed telecommunications projects. 


Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of telecommunications technologies like fiber optic networks, wireless networks (4G/5G), copper cabling, VoIP, and data center connectivity. 
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ACMA) 
  • Ability to design and manage network infrastructure upgrades and expansions 


Team Leadership:

  • Assemble and manage a cross-functional project team including engineers, technicians, contractors, and vendors. 
  • Delegate tasks effectively, provide clear direction, and foster collaboration within the team. 
  • Monitor team performance, address issues, and promote professional development. 


Project Execution and Monitoring:

  • Oversee the implementation of project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget. 
  • Manage project risks and mitigation strategies, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively. 
  • Conduct regular project status reviews with stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress and key metrics. 


Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external vendors 
  • Effectively communicate project updates, challenges, and decisions to stakeholders at all levels 
  • Proactively address concerns and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle 


Project Closure and Documentation:

  • Ensure all project deliverables are completed and documented according to specifications. 
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement 
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports and handover materials 


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Telecommunications Project Manager with a strong track record of successful project delivery in the Australian market
  • Tertiary qualification in telecommunications engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Certified Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP) preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
