The Role:
Seeking a Fitter Machinist
to join a high-performing maintenance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment and machinery in a supportive and safety-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out machining, fitting, assembly, and repairs of fixed plant and mobile equipment components.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and other workshop machinery to precise tolerances.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and crushers.
- Diagnose faults and identify solutions to mechanical issues to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing and repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work is completed to quality and safety standards.
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate in Fitting and Machining (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).
- Proven experience in heavy industry, mining, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong machining skills (manual lathes, mills, boring machines, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- High attention to detail and focus on producing high-quality workmanship.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and risk management practices.
- Current driver’s licence.
