We're partnering with a mining organisation undergoing a major transformation – one that prioritises environmental accountability, community trust, and long-term sustainability. This newly created role is ideal for someone ready to drive best practice
across environmental compliance, community engagement, and health & safety systems from the ground up.
The Role:
Reporting to a senior member of the leadership team, you’ll play a pivotal role in embedding robust Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) systems, aligning with legislative and operational frameworks.
R esponsibilities:
- Design and implement integrated EHS management systems across site operations.
- Ensure environmental compliance and manage key programs.
- Engage with regulators and ensure all statutory reporting is timely and accurate.
- Lead stakeholder and community engagement initiatives, including Indigenous partnerships.
- Build internal awareness of environmental and social responsibilities through training and mentoring.
- Manage grievance processes, sponsorship programs, and cultural heritage protocols.
We’re looking for someone who’s not only technically sound, but also confident engaging with communities and operational leaders alike.
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Australian EHS legislation and environmental risk frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing or improving EHS or ISO-certified systems.
- The ability to work independently and build relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
