About the Role:
Seeking a skilled and safety-focused Underground Drill Mechanic to join the maintenance team at a high-performing underground gold mining operation. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of a fleet of underground drilling equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled servicing, repairs, and breakdown maintenance on a range of underground drill rigs (e.g. Sandvik, Epiroc, Atlas Copco).
- Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical faults.
- Work safely and efficiently in an underground mining environment.
- Accurately record maintenance activities using site-based CMMS.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and production teams to prioritise critical tasks.
- Adhere to site safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives.
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Plant Mechanic (Australian-recognised).
- Demonstrated experience working on underground drilling equipment.
- Experience working on Sandvik DD421 & DD422i
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and fault finding.
- Sound understanding of underground mine safety and maintenance practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote conditions.
- Valid manual driver’s licence.
- Previous underground experience.
