Underground Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We’re currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join the maintenance team at our established gold mining operation . This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that’s critical to keeping our underground fleet running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a range of underground heavy mobile equipment, including loaders, trucks, drills, and utility vehicles.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure fleet reliability and compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
• Work closely with the maintenance planner and underground operations to prioritise urgent repairs.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and to OEM and site standards.
• Maintain detailed service records and equipment logs.

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic / HD Fitter.
• Proven experience working on underground mining equipment - Sandvik, Caterpillar
• Solid fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Strong safety focus and commitment to maintaining a zero-harm workplace.
• Ability to work independently and in a team under demanding underground conditions.
• Previous gold mine experience preferred but not essential.
• Previous Pronto experience.
