About the role:

Their capital programme team is always busy…$500m spend per year busy! The business is continuing to grow with thousands of new connections year on year, which leads to extensive network expansion requirements, plus capacity improvements and ongoing maintenance, as well as major infrastructure build projects.

The Capital Programme Assurance Manager role has been newly created to oversee the planning, development and execution of the business’ capital programmes – from the perspective of maximising their commercial viability & discipline.

  • Oversee the commercial management of capital programmes and maintenance works

  • Review key projects during scoping, design, and construction delivery to ensure commercial discipline

  • Identify areas of project management improvement across the organisation

  • Effectively manage contractors and ensure a fair & competitive tendering process

  • Critically examine budgets, costing, and contract management processes

  • Work alongside the wider team provide coaching and build positive engagement

  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders

Successful applicants will have:

  • 15+ years’ experience in a commercial role in construction/infrastructure

  • A track record of ensuring the commercial success of large infrastructure projects

  • Proven experience in cost control, budget setting, tendering and contract management

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills

  • The ability to drive for improvement and enact change across a large organisation

  • Ideally, experience working in the infrastructure industry

  • Tertiary qualification in quantity surveying or construction preferred
