​You will be working with a tight knit team who have been working together for a number or years in a great working environment. Being a specialist civil utilities contractor they know their sector and have formed solid working relationships with all the larger contractors in the region.

The Role

  • To ensure all crews and contracts under your control are carried out in a safe manner that fosters a positive Health and Safety culture within the company.

  • To forward plan, programme and organise the clients resources (people/plant/subcontractors) to ensure maximum utilisation and best returns.

  • To meet clients objectives for quality service to all customers.​

Key tasks and expected results

  • Liaison with Client/Client Representative to

    1. Produce works

    2. Co-ordinate our resources and agree on programming of works

    3. Ensure satisfaction

    4. Agree variances/extra works

    5. Assist with tender/quotation preparation

    6. Assist with estimates

  • Administration of Works/Contracts including

    1. Preparation of job programmes

    2. Preparation of job instructions

    3. Set production targets for Site Foremen and communicate the information

    4. Preparation of Safety/Traffic Management Plans

    5. Preparation and implementation of job Quality Plans

    6. Ensure compliance and Quality Assurance

    7. Preparation of subcontract agreements and administration of subcontracts

    8. Ensure forward planning, organising and ordering of contract subcontractors/survey/materials/plant/people at all times - to eliminate on job down time”

    9. Bring to charge work and progress claims by due date each month

  • To ensure that all teams designated to be under your control operate in a safe manner in accordance with health and safety rules and policies.

  • To undertake basic engineering survey investigation and setout as may be required for various jobs.

  • To direct staff and plant resources as may be required, monitor materials used to predetermined estimates and achieve and maintain profitability.

  • To ensure all invoicing, contract claims, reporting and work in progress assessments are done accurately and by the required dates.

  • To programme and liaise activities with the Site Foremen as appropriate.

  • Identify and record variations as they occur.

Health and Safety

  • All new, transferring and labour hire staff are inducted prior to commencing work.

  • All staff hold the appropriate class of licence, endorsement and, where applicable, Certificate of Competence.

  • All subcontractors have been competency evaluated and are inducted onto Client worksites.

  • Site specific Health & Safety plans are developed and implemented for all contracts.

Person Specifications

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline

  • Current Class 1 Driver Licence (minimum) – Class 2 preferred and R, T, W endorsements​
