Our client is an Electricity Distributor that owns and operates the electricity lines and assets in the Kapiti and Horowhenua districts and its core business is to manage the network in a safe and reliable manner and due to an internal move is on the search for an experienced Control Room Operator.
In this role you will be responsible for the safe operation of the electrical network under both normal and fault conditions and ensuring those working on the network is doing so safely. In addition, you will be responsible for creating and reviewing of the switching schedules, post outages reports and reliability performance data.
Other key responsibilities include:
Real time operation of the electrical network by applying operating policies and procedures
Coordination of supply interruptions for routine maintenance
Monitor and control of the network to ensure a reliable supply
Direct field staff and operators in the rectification of supply interruptions during incidents and major events
This is a key role within the business and requires someone with at least 3-5 experience in a similar role within the Power Industry or related technical industry.
Other key requirements include:
Related Electrical qualification
Experience with Distributed Energy Resource management
Experience with ADMS Control systems is advantageous (e.g., Milsoft,PowerOn/Fusion GE or Schnider)
Understanding of protection & automated systems
