Our client is a major player in the energy industry in New Zealand with an ongoing commitment to equipment Integrity and Safety and to improving their network for the benefit of the community.To assist in moving forward with this growth and ensuring safe operating conditions, they now wish to employ a Control Systems Engineer to join their Auckland based engineering team.
Reporting to the SCADA Team Leader,you will be the first point of contact for support and will be required to control the systems to ensure high availability & data accuracy as well as driving automation and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
Support the control room with strategic direction and implementation of systems
Maintain displays, control activities and ensure servers are running smoothly
Update databases and testing fields
Commissioning work on the SCADA side
Full life cycle planning of upgrades and components such as patching & hardware replacements
Create and update standards and documentation such as training handbook & system documentation
The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant tertiary qualification
Working experience with SCADA and Control Systems
Experienced in maintaining SCADA and Communications equipment
Trouble shooting experience and understanding root cause analysis
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience working on PowerOn will be an added bonus
