A locally owned and operated export / import company needs a shipping & logistics officer to join their busy team in Wellington.
The company has a presence in both New Zealand and Australia and requires someone who is a quick thinker, great at communication and able to multi-task.
Key focus areas:
Arranging customs clearances and deliveries to clients throughout Australia & NZ
Negotiating shipment rates & bookings
Using a wide range of third party logistics providers
Sourcing and purchasing of existing and new products
Competitive buying to ensure company revenue and margin targets are achieved
Assisting with warehousing, stock management and logistics throughout Australia and New Zealand
Placing purchase orders, arranging ocean freight requirements and ensuring follow up on confirmations
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Excellent MS office experience
Previous experience within freight and logistics would be ideal
Great telephone manner and organisation skills
Passion for the industry
Ability to work as part of a team
