Auckland International Airport Ltd are one of New Zealand’s largest transport operations. With a strong history of over 50 years, the AIAL is the primary hub for international and domestic travel in New Zealand. About the role:
As a key member of the Strategic Planning team, this person will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the AIAL’s overall transportation infrastructure strategy. You will be a key driver of the Airport’s overall efficiency, growth, and on-going success.
Maintain and develop the business’ master-planned view of transportation infrastructure
Manage multiple large-scale and long-term projects, involving multiple stakeholders
Liaise with Council, local boards, and other key stakeholders to discuss the company’s plans
Enable AIAL’s contribution to local and central government transport policy processes
Successful applicants will have:
An excellent understanding of integrated transport systems and aviation
10+ years’ experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, or similar
Experience in the aviation sector (ideally) &experience with public transport systems
Excellent communication skills, and an ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders
Ideally, connections to NZ public bodies including Council, NZTA, AT, Waka Kotahi
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
Current working knowledge of relevant New Zealand legislation
A tertiary qualification in urban planning, architecture, or similar
Work on multiple high-level projects as part of AIAL’s huge development programme
Play a pivotal role in determining the future of Auckland Airport
