We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and deliver projects for Data Centre builds for a tier 1 main contractor.
Applicants must have first-hand experience in the turnkey delivery of Data Centre projects, including Mechanical & Electrical systems, someone who can develop client relationships and lead strong, motivated construction teams. You will have a design, construction or project management background.
You must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures, and able to coordinate a team of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organisational skills. The goal will be to ensure the projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.
Main duties:
Plan all construction activities from structure to fit-out, scheduling packages to ensure deadlines will be met
Oversee best practice construction methodology, planning, delivery, logistics and commercial issues
Collaborate with engineers, architects, subcontractors etc. to determine the specifications of the project
Assist in the negotiation of contracts with quantity surveyors and subcontractors to reach profitable and workable agreements
Analysing results and troubleshooting problem areas, while building, developing and cultivating business relationships vital to the success of the project
Implementing and managing any design and build changes and interventions, reporting on progress to the client and all stakeholders
Supervise the work of site managers and supervisors and give them guidance when needed
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Skills and experience required:
PM experience on the construction of data centre project(s)
Tertiary qualification in construction or related discipline
Persistence and determination; able to use your initiative
Be thorough and have a high level of attention to detail
Excellent verbal communication skills
A team player with leadership competencies
