The opportunity:

Our client is a well-established national company with over 20 years in the business, providing top quality home renovations, alterations & modifications in order to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

Due to growth and high demand for their services they are in need of a Project Manager to join their busy Auckland team. You’ll be tasked with liaising with care providers, clients, and subcontractors to deliver renovations to budget and within required timeframes. You’ll be empathetic, understanding, and have the level of sensitivity to build strong relationships with all you work with.

You will ideally come from a trades background and have experience running interiors or refurbishment construction work from $20k up to $500k in value, typically it’s $25-150k. Ideally you have some understanding of accessible house design and construction methods.

The employers office is based in South Auckland but you will be spending the majority of your time on different sites across Auckland and sometimes further North. There might be an overnight stay now and again, but the majority of the work is in Auckland.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in the building / construction sector

  • Come from a trades background (and have LPB ideally)

  • Experience on residential builds, renovations, or interiors

  • Have the ability to work well with a wide range of people

  • High levels of empathy, understanding and sensitivity

  • Highly organised with excellent time management

  • Sound knowledge of NZ Building Legislation

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings

  • Ability to manage subcontractors

  • An understanding of universal (‘accessible’) housing design and construction would be a bonus!
