We are currently looking for an experienced Cost Planner / Estimator to join the Brisbane team.
About the role:
He / She is going to preferably come from a consultancy background. The ideal candidate will need to be able to measure and estimate and has ideally spent time as a Quantity Surveyor consultant learning the disciplines as well as the evolution of projects.
The role will ensure accurate cost plans, estimates of allocated projects are completed on time, in accordance with required technical standards and to provide leadership in the pre construction phase of the project.
The role will incorporate a variety of responsibilities, including:
Quantity Take-off and preparing Bills of Quantities
Undertake measurements and prepare first principles estimates for a range of major property projects
Interpret designs and specifications to assess opportunities and contingencies
Undertake productivity and benchmarking analysis
Prepare requests for quotations for subcontractor and suppliers
Participate in construction methodology reviews
To be successful for the role the applicant must have:
Degree in Quantity Surveying
10 + years post graduate experience having gained experience in a consultancy firm. Intermediate candidates encouraged to apply
Has experience working on large scale projects
Has experience in successful tenders for $200M + projects
Friendly and approachable personality with a good head on your shoulders
