We have been the recruitment partner for a leading interior fit-out company in Auckland for the past 10 years, helping them grow and develop with key hires around project management, site management and design. The company has been highly successful and are experiencing a period of growth – which will be sustained in the years to come. They are looking to hire a Contracts Manager (or Senior Project Manager) to assist them in delivering projects across the Auckland region.

Working from modern offices in Auckland’s CBD and across construction sites under the company’s control, the position is paying between $140-160k plus a vehicle.

The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee projects (between 2-6 at any one time) from initiation to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, to a high standard

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assist in delivering projects

  • Identify cost savings for the pre construction and construction phases, review and monitor budgets

  • Assist with strategy on upcoming and current projects

  • Be responsible for the master programming on jobs

  • Co-ordinate internal resources and subcontractors for site works

  • Produce weekly reports

  • Maintain client and design contacts, updating all parties as agreed

  • Help resolve any disputes which come up, and identifying areas for improvement in project delivery

  • ·dhere to and promote H&S requirements

Experience required:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years experience in the NZ construction sector

  • Extensive Project Management and/or Contracts Management experience

  • Interior Fit-Out experience

  • You will need to understand all aspects of the contracting process, and technical building requirements — plus good commercial sense is a must

  • You need to be able to establish strong working relationships with a wide range of people and be a strong team player

  • Able to use your own initiative and make your own decisions that will lead to the success of the company

  • Proficient in IT – MS Office, MS Project essential

  • High confidence level, motivated and driven
