One of New Zealand's top tier main contractors is looking for a site foreman or manager to work nights for 3-6 months, the role will then become a standard working day role. The project is in a large retail environment (mall) and there's an uplift in salary to compensate for working nights (an extra $400/week). The salary will be dependent on experience but is in the range of $110-125k with a vehicle, the company also offers other great benefits.
The role is on seismic upgrades for interior fit-out and small works projects. It will suit an experienced site manager, or a site foreman looking to step up into an SM role, or a leading hand carpenter looking to get into a foreman position. The job holder will be supervising subcontractors and trade staff onsite, being able to prioritise, organise and manage people is key. A trades background is preferred but is not essential.
Main duties:
Onsite labour and trades control
Follow the schedule of works and resource plan
Adhere to all HSE requirements, be a HSE advocate
Lead by example in the nightly site operation
Report on progress to internal parties
Work with in-house staff for production and maintenance
To be considered for this role you must have:
Construction experience from
Commercial interiors, or build experience on residential projects
Direct experience of leading labourers and carpenters
Strong communication skills – you will be liaising confidently with people at all levels
Trade qualification preferred
People management and/or leadership skills gained in construction
Be level headed and have a hands-on approach when up against deadlines
