As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will inspect, service, and repair motorized power equipment. Use a variety of hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers. You will regularly work with power equipment, ranging from snowmobiles to chainsaws. When equipment breaks down, being able to diagnose the source and the extent of the problem and determine mechanical, electrical, and fuel problems to make necessary repairs.
Repair fractional-horsepower gasoline engines used to power generators, compressors, rammers, and similar machines, using hand tools.
Locate causes of trouble, dismantle engines, using hand tools and examines parts for defects.
Servicing, maintaining, fault finding and repairing construction plant machinery to ensure smooth running and performance of machines
Complete all work orders accurately
Ensure all work is to a high standard
Create and maintain a high standard of workshop and yard housekeeping
Able to take directions from Plant workshop manager and representatives
Work with and communicate with other team members effectively
