About the Project & Role:

Leading one of New Zealand's largest transport infrastructure project in Auckland. Our client is now busier than ever and have opportunities for an experienced Steel Fixer for their projects across Central and West Auckland. As a Steel Fixer you will be supporting Crane and rigger operators for the foundation of the 3.45km twin tunnel railway from Britomart to MT Eden Station. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a large team, and take on the challenge to build a construction project valued at $1.1 billion.Whether you have a qualification or an experienced Steel Fixer there are multiple opportunities for the right candidate.

Skills and Experiences

We are seeking applicants with various levels of experience, but must have at least one or more of the following:

  • Have at least 1 year experience as a Steel Fixer

  • Be able to read and interpret drawing plans

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills

  • Previous concreting and scaffolding experience is advantageous

  • Have reliable transport

  • Experience using hand and power tools

Duties of the Role

  • Site based installation of steel bars and steel mesh in concrete forms

  • Setting up rigging equipment to raise and position steel units and columns

  • Installation of mesh, bolts and barriers to stabilise the area for concrete pours

  • Measure, cut, and bend wire mesh into concrete areas

  • Using various drills and tools set
